Inspiring Healthier Living:

Challenging Conventions with Bold Solutions

Background

Global efforts to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs) have created a strong foundation for transformative change. While challenges remain, we have unprecedented opportunities to revolutionise how we approach health and wellbeing worldwide. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for NCDs and mental wellbeing have united nations in a common purpose, spurring innovative solutions and collaborative action.

This September marks a pivotal moment as Heads of State and Government gather at the United Nations General Assembly to chart an ambitious new course. The upcoming Political Declaration promises to usher in a new era of health promotion, prevention, and care that puts people at the heart of every initiative.

We stand at the threshold of exciting possibilities. The combined expertise of governments, health promotion foundations, and partners has yielded valuable insights that can now be amplified through fresh approaches. As global and societal trends evolve, there is value in coming together to celebrate and share our rich collective knowledge and implementation experiences, and to pioneer bold, creative solutions that better serve our communities.

The path forward lies in reimagining health through integrated, people-centric strategies that enhance daily life. By recognising that wellbeing flourishes not just through primary care but through thoughtful policies, vibrant communities, supportive workplaces, and nurturing environments, we can create a healthier, more resilient world. Together, we can build comprehensive solutions that address all aspects of health and empower people to thrive.

Symposium Organiser

The International Network of Health Promotion Foundations (INHPF) represents a unique coalition of organisations united by a shared commitment to advancing public health through policy, programmes, and people-centred strategies.

What makes INHPF distinct is the diversity and complementarity of its members. Each foundation brings its unique strengths, perspectives, and approaches, deeply rooted in its social context, culture, and health system. Some excel in systems-level innovation, others in community mobilisation, digital engagement, or research excellence.

This symposium recognises that no single model is universally applicable, and that our collective wisdom is our greatest asset. It is not a competition of ideas, but a space for collaborative problem-solving, where participants can learn from one another, build on each other's successes, and uncover new opportunities to advance shared goals.

In an era of complex and interconnected health challenges, this gathering is both a celebration of individual achievements and a commitment to transforming these into collective action. By focusing on people-centric and innovative solutions, the symposium reinforces our belief that together, we can accelerate the development and implementation of effective strategies for healthier communities around the world.
